This year the Elly Awards will be virtual—and we have plenty of creativity to showcase at the event.

LEGACY AWARD:
George Jaber
George Jaber has been building sets for film and theater since 1974 and just celebrated 40 years of teaching the same at the Community College of Allegheny County. His students “learn to work and go to work” in theater and film and deeply respect George as a teacher and mentor. He also spent many years as an active leader of IATSE local 489. Steeltown is proud to honor George and recognize his vast and deep contribution to the film arts education and independent film community in Pittsburgh.
IMPACT AWARD:
Mulligan
Mulligan is an independent television series that proudly calls itself “Homemade in Pittsburgh, PA.” With 93% of its cast and crew calling Pittsburgh home and the city itself as a main character, it is easy to see the impact on our community both onscreen and behind the camera.
Created and written by Patrick Cannon, Directed by Steve Parys, and Produced by Caroline Collins, Mulligan was an official selection at Film Independent’s LA Film Festival and won Best Pilot honors at Rhode Island International Film Festival.

Pittsburgh’s own constellation of stars will be on display on May 12, 2021, as our co-hosts take you on an adventure through the talented world of Pittsburgh’s filmmaking community. And don’t miss the VIP after-party. We know Pittsburghers near and far will be excited to party with these two!
